Creating a Better Tomorrow

In the coastal region of southern Bangladesh, near the Sundarbans, access to safe drinking water remains a critical challenge. The widespread presence of salinity and arsenic contamination in water sources forces communities to rely on unsafe alternatives, particularly during the dry season, when freshwater becomes even more scarce.
Our project, “DWF – Drinking Water Foundation,” uses Rainwater Harvesting to ensure year-round access to clean water.

POT BD Social Activities : Harnessing Nature for Eco-Friendly Textile Production

POT BD’s social activities integrate rainwater harvesting aims to tackle the urgent water crisis in the coastal communities of southern Bangladesh, where access to safe drinking water is severely limited due to salinity intrusion and arsenic contamination. By introducing sustainable and community-driven solutions, the initiative seeks to ensure reliable access to clean and safe water, especially for vulnerable populations living near the Sundarbans.

POT BD Social Activities rain water harvesting cycle

As part of our POT BD Social Activities, we collect rainwater from clouds using advanced techniques. This process ensures that we capture pure rainwater directly from the sky, making it an eco-friendly alternative to traditional water sources for our textile production and community needs.

Storage

Our project stores collected rainwater in eco-friendly reservoirs, ensuring it remains safe and available for filtration. By carefully preserving this rainwater, we reduce dependency on natural water bodies, promoting sustainability and supporting eco-friendly practices in textile production.

Filtration

Once collected and stored, the rainwater undergoes a thorough filtration process to remove any impurities. Our filtration system guarantees that only pure, clean water is made available for drinking, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety for our communities.

Serving Water

After the rainwater is filtered, it is ready to be served as clean drinking water. This step completes our cycle of sustainable water management, providing safe drinking water for local communities while also supporting eco-conscious textile production at POT BD.
